A Cautionary Tale

Slammed today, but just this quick note of caution:

If you are ever making caramel, which is basically just heating sugar until it melts and becomes caramel—don't lick the spoon from the pot. Caramel, aka hot sugar, can really burn the shit out of your lip.

And people will think you have herpes if you have a blister on your lip.

I should clarify, i was making creme caramel, which is basically an easy creme brulee. you cook sugar until it melts to a caramel-esque consistancy (that is what i licked - big mistake). pour that into the bottom of little dishes. then you mix milk, eggs, vanilla and more sugar. and top the caramelized sugar with the milk mixture and bake in a water bath for an hour. it is really pretty easy and quite tasty.

god bless paula deen . . .
