Speak Right

January 28

ashfault/asphalt

"Ashfault" is a common misspelling of "asphalt."

from Common Errors in English Usage

REALLY??? WTF????

And in other Common Errors, the correct phrase is "all of A sudden," not "all of THE sudden."

Now you know. Anyone missing my Bush Countdown Desk Calendar yet?

ashfault? for real? i could MAYBE see assfault, but not ashfault. sounds like it would have something to do w/ an earthquake or exploding volcano, you know, something that happened all of the sudden.
why didn't you get a dilbert or word of the day calendar? i'm so getting you a rockin' calendar for xmas this year.
